Why I Started BioStockInfo

Bio Stock Info is an independent publication focused on clinical-stage biotechnology investing. I’m Alex, and I launched it in September 2025 to build the resource I wished I’d had when I started researching biotech.

Understanding a biotech company takes more than following headlines. You need to assess the science, interpret clinical results, understand the competitive landscape, and work out whether the company has enough cash to reach its next milestone.

Here, I share company analysis, research tools, and my own investment decisions to make that process easier to follow—including the uncertainties and the things that can go wrong.

About Me

I have more than 20 years of investing experience and work as a Sales Director at a financial technology firm in Luxembourg. My career has also taken me through construction, manufacturing, and fashion.

Technology makes up the core of my portfolio. I allocate approximately 5–10% to selected clinical-stage biotech companies, where my interest lies in understanding how scientific evidence translates into commercial potential.

I write from an investor’s perspective, sharing my reasoning so you can examine it, challenge it, and draw your own conclusions.

What I Look For

My research centres on five questions:

  • Science: How does the treatment work, and how convincing is the evidence?
  • Market: What unmet need does it address, and how does it compare with existing and emerging treatments?
  • Catalysts: Which upcoming events could change the investment case?
  • Finances: Can the company fund its plans, and what dilution or financing risks do shareholders face?
  • Risks: What could undermine the thesis, and what evidence would change my mind?

Promising science alone doesn’t make an attractive investment. Price, timing, financing, and execution matter too.

How I Use AI

I use AI-assisted tools to help collect and organise information, extract details from source documents, and support research and editing.

I remain responsible for what I publish and for the investment opinions I express. Automated tools can miss context or make mistakes, so checking the underlying evidence matters.

My aim is to make my reasoning understandable and the evidence easier to examine—not to remove the need for your own due diligence.
